Aster Environmental - Core Service Area Spotlight:

City of Kawartha Lakes

The City of Kawartha Lakes (aka CKL) was formed in 2001 through the amalgamation of several former municipalities, including the town of Lindsay, the village of Bobcaygeon, and many others. The area encompasses a vast expanse of land, dotted with lakes, rivers, and picturesque landscapes, hence the name "Kawartha," which means "land of shining waters" in the indigenous Anishinaabe language. CKL is characterized by its natural beauty, making it a popular destination for cottage development and rural homesteading.

Due to the abundance of natural features found within CKL, development applications frequently require submission of an environmental impact study, natural heritage evaluation, and/or Species at Risk assessment. Aster Environmental has the expertise to complete these technical reports at a fair and competitive rate. Aster staff are closely familiar with the unique environmental constraints found throughout CKL. Contact us to assist you in preparing technical studies to support your application.
